Microgaming Makes A £30,000 Difference

Irving Hayes - 07 Mar 2019

Microgaming LogoCasino software giant Microgaming’s CSR Play It Forward initiative has been making a notable difference in the lives of those in need for quite a number of years now. Humanitarian as well as animal-aid has benefited from the proceeds of the project, and 2018 has been one of its most successful years to date.

As part of its 2018 Gift of Giving campaign, made possible by its Play It Forward initiative, the casino games supplier has donated a total of £30,000 to four charities. Every year, key customers and contacts of the company are invited to nominate and vote for the charities of their choice in four allocated global regions. These are the UK and Europe, the Isle of Man, Africa, and Rest of World. Each region benefits from an equal share of the donated money.

Top Four For 2018

During the 2018 instalment of the campaign, the charities that received the highest number of votes were the Isle of Man’s Heroes on the Water, Teenage Cancer Trust (UK and Europe), Africa’s Save the Rhino International, and Medecins Sans Frontiers (Rest of World).

Each of the four charities are well-deserving of a winning vote and they all contribute to the well-being of man and animal in a very special and prominent way.

Heroes On The Water

Heroes on the Water Isle of Man was established back in 2014 and was to act as a fundraising partner for its UK division, namely Heroes on the Water UK. The initiative provides a means of rehabilitation and re-integration for military veterans. Therapy is presented by combining the physical challenges of kayaking with relaxing water activities such as fishing.

The Teenage Cancer Trust

It’s a very disturbing statistic but the sad reality is that in the United Kingdom, around seven young people between the ages of 13 and 24 are diagnosed with some form of cancer every single day of the year. The Teenage Cancer Trust aims to support the patients as well as their families during the processes of treatment.

Save The Rhino International

Save the Rhino International may have its focus on Africa, but this is a charity that is officially also registered in the UK, which is in itself a firm indication that donations are administered in a responsible way. 2018 marks the 4th year in a row that the charity has been voted in as one of the top charities of choice.

This year, Save the Rhino International celebrates 25 years of service.

Medecins Sans Frontiers (MSF)

This particular charity most likely needs no introduction. MSF is an internationally acclaimed humanitarian medical organisation and its focus is on delivering emergency medical care to those affected by armed conflicts, political unrest, disasters of nature and a general exclusion from health care services.
